Service provider

How to find a suitable service provider.

If you lack expertise or resources, an external service provider can help you create an accessible digital offering or find and remove existing barriers on your website/app. But how can you find a suitable service provider?

Certifications

Sometimes it is not easy to recognise whether an external service provider has the necessary expertise to implement accessible digital content. Proof of certification can help with the decision-making process.

The UBIT Academy incite certifies web accessibility experts. You can find a list of people on the incite website (external link, in German)

IAAP (International Association of Accessibility Professionals) also offers a range of certifications (external link, in German):

  • Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC)
  • Web Accessibility Specialist (WAS)
  • Certified Professional in Web Accessibility (CPWA)
  • Accessible Document Specialist (ADS)

Certified persons or agencies have dealt with the topic in detail and can support you.

Contact points

You can find a list of contact points in the Wiki of the Bundeskanzleramt (external link, in German).

Costs for an in-depth website/app check

The costs are between EUR 3,000.00 and EUR 12,000.00, depending on the size and complexity of the site.
